Cycle Log: Endurance Phase 2015 – Week 8

Week 8 is the second week of the third mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2015 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are my workouts for the week of September 22-28, 2014 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan):

  • Monday, September 22 – Hill Climb (2.5 hours)
  • Tuesday, September 23 – Active Recovery (0.75 hours)
  • Thursday, September 25 – Steady Spinning (1.75 hours)
  • Friday, September 26 – Active Recovery (0.75 hours)
  • Saturday, September 27 – Steady Spinning (1.25 hours)

I had another great week of training. My best workout by far was Monday’s Hill Climb. It was 2.5 hours, 42.1 miles, 2,000+ feet of climbing in 90+ temps. Great workout but I felt the effects for the rest of the week. I still had muscle fatigue for Thursday’s Steady Spinning ride but I had mostly recovered by Saturday and had a good Zone 2 spin on the bike. I have a recovery week coming up but it begins with a hard ride on Monday. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
