Cycle Log: Intensity Phase 2014 – Week 15

Week 14 is the third week of the fifth and final mesocycle of my Intensity Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles), which means it was a recovery week. Here are my workouts for the week of April 14-20, 2014 (click here to download my Intensity Phase training plan):

  • Monday, April 14 – Tempo Ride (1.75 hours)
  • Tuesday, April 15 – Active Recovery (1.0 hour)
  • Thursday, April 17 – Active Recovery (1.0 hour)
  • Saturday, April 19 – Hill Climb (2.25 hours)

Happy Easter! This may have been a recovery week but I had two really hard rides. I had a very good Tempo ride on Monday where I spent 47:40 at an average power of 204 watts (Zone 3). I recovered for 4 days and then had a great Hill Climb ride at South Mountain. I ascended the mountain twice for a total of 3,058 feet of climbing; however, I’m just getting warmed-up. This week, I’m headed out to Bartlett Lake to do some more serious climbing. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
