Cycle Log: Intensity Phase 2014 – Week 5

Week 5 is the second week of the second mesocycle of my Intensity Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of February 3-9, 2014 (click here to download my Intensity Phase training plan).

I had a short week of riding. The week started well with a very good Strength Intervals workout on my stationary bike. I did a series of mostly 3-minute intervals that put my HR into Zone 3 at 90 rpm. I did a total of 35 minutes of hard efforts. I also had a very good Time Trial Intervals workout, again on the stationary bike. I did 3 x 7:00 in Zone 4 with only 3 minutes of recovery between hard efforts. I did not get a chance to ride over the weekend because of business commitments but this will serve as my recovery week and I’ll be back at it next week. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.
