Cycle Log: Intensity Phase 2014 – Week 1

Week 1 is the first week of the first mesocycle of my Intensity Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of January 6-12, 2014 (click here to download my Intensity Phase training plan).

This was an awesome week. In fact, it was one of my best ever. I rode 10.75 hours and nearly 200 miles including today’s Casa Grande Century where we covered 102 miles in less than 6 hours. We rode a very steady pace (17-18 mph) throughout and after a very chilly start (upper 30’s), it turned out to be a beautiful day. I could say more but I’m tired and want to go to bed! I have a less rigorous week coming up. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
