Cycle Log: Endurance Phase 2014 – Week 15

Week 15 is the third week of the fifth mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles), which means it is a recovery week. Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of December 30, 2013 to January 5, 2014 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan).

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday season.  I had a good recovery week. I skipped the field test since I recently decided I am not going to start racing again until May (but I will be riding in some great events like this week’s Casa Grande Century). I just did two High Cadence Spinning workouts on the stationary bike. I recovered the rest of the week, which included a High Cadence Recovery ride because my legs felt really strong on Saturday. I finished 2013 with 5,226 miles, which is a personal best. One of my big goals for 2014 is to ride 6,000 miles! I have a big week coming up. I’ll be doing the first of 3 century rides I have scheduled in 2014. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
