Cycle Log: Endurance Phase 2014 – Week 13

Week 13 is the first week of the fifth mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of December 16-22, 2013 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan).

I started the week with recovery rides because I was still dragging from last Saturday’s epic Trash Ride. I recovered by Thursday’s Pyramid Intervals workout and did 4 x 5:00 Zone 4 efforts with 5 minutes of recovery. I had a good Tempo ride on Saturday as well. Because I have been really pressed for time, I did all of my workouts on a stationary bike or indoor trainer. My exciting news is that I went past the 5,000 mile mark for miles ridden this year! I should have a new personal best by the end of the month. I’m hoping to get out for some longer rides this week. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a very Merry Christmas!
