Cycle Log: Endurance Phase 2014 – Week 8

Week 8 is the second week of the third mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of November 11-17, 2013 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan).

I had an unusual, yet exhilarating week. I spent 5 days in Colorado Springs at USA Cycling headquarters participating in the Level I Coach’s Conference. I am happy to announce I have achieved Level I status as a cycling coach, which is the highest level possible! It was an educational and empowering conference where I learned a great deal and made many new friends. I also rode a bit. Before I left, I did a High Cadence Spinning session on a stationary bike. While I was in Colorado, I did two, 45-minute Hill Intervals workouts on the hotel’s Life Fitness bike. They were short, yet very intense sessions! I have another busy week coming up so I will only get about 4-5 hours of bike time. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
