Cycle Log: Endurance Phase 2014 – Week 6

Week 6 is the third week of the second mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of October 28 to November 3, 2013 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan).

Week of 10/28/13 Mon Tues Wed Th Fri Sat Sun Total
Goal 1.0 AR OFF 2.0 FT OFF 0.75 AR 0.75 AR OFF 4.5
Actual 1.0 AR OFF 2.25 FT OFF 1.0 AR 0.5 AR OFF 4.75

I had a very good recovery week. I had some lingering fatigue from last week’s Faster Gran Fondo but still had a good field test on Wednesday. I rode up 9-mile hill at a personal best (for this course) 210 watts average power. My heart rate was well below threshold so I could have ridden much harder (although my legs did start to tire at the 6-mile mark). Total climbing for that workout was 2,156 feet. I recovered the rest of the week and I’m feeling strong again. I have a couple of long rides coming up this week. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
