Cycle Log: Competition Phase II – Week 8

Week 8 is the second week of the third mesocycle of my Competition Phase II for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of August 19-25, 2013 (click here to download my plan for Competition Phase II).

I had another great week. It began with a 90-minute High Cadence Spinning ride on the stationary bike and continued with a really strong Pyramid Intervals: Constant Gearing workout. I did 4 x 7:00 hard efforts with 4 minutes of recovery. Constant Gearing intervals are hard! I finished the week with a Sunday ride on the tandem bike. We did a 35 minute zone 4 Hill Interval up 9-mile hill in Arizona. That was also a hard workout! I recover a bit this week and then it’s the final week before the Arizona State TTT and Tandem TT Championships. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
