Cycle Log: Endurance Phase II – Week 4

Week 4 is the first week of the second mesocycle of my Endurance Phase II for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of May 20-26, 2013 (click here to download my plan for Endurance Phase II).

I had a great week which began with a Hill Climb workout to Bartlett Lake here in Arizona. I rode with a buddy of mine and we climbed nearly 3,000 feet over 27 miles. It was a great workout. I had a very good Steady Spinning workout on Thursday and finished the week with a nice high-cadence Tempo ride on Saturday. I spent long stretches at 100+ rpm in Zone 3. This week, I have my first tandem ride since last year’s McDowell Mountain Century. I’m looking forward to it. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
