Cycle Log: Competition Phase Week 13

Week 13 is the first week of the fifth mesocycle of my Competition Phase for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of April 8-14, 2013 (click here to download my plan for the Competition Phase).

I continue to be uncertain about my upcoming race schedule. I still don’t know if I will be competing in the Mount Lemmon TT or the South Mountain TT next month; however, I continue to train hard on a slightly reduced schedule. I had two very good High Cadence Spinning workouts along with a great Pyramid Intervals workout. For the PI session, I did 5 x 5:00 high intensity efforts with 3 minutes of recovery. I am doing all of my training on the stationary bike or indoor trainer to save time, which is too bad since the riding weather here in Arizona is perfect right now. Oh well, I’ll get back outside eventually. In the meantime, I’ll continue to train hard. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
