Cycle Log: Endurance Phase Week 4

Week 4 is the first week of the second mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles). Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of October 22-28, 2012 (click here to download my plan for the Endurance Phase).

I had another very good week. I felt great for Monday’s Steady Spinning workout.  My average heart rate was in the upper half of zone 2, which is just where I want it. I had a great Power Bursts workout on Thursday with 10 x 15 second bursts up a short, very steep hill. Saturday’s Tempo ride included 2 x 12:00 zone 3 intervals with an average power output of 207 watts. Again, right where I want it to be.  I have another fairly hard week coming up.
