Cycle Log: Endurance Phase Week 3

Week 3 is the third week of the first mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles), which means it is a recovery week.  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of October 15-21, 2012 (click here to download my plan for the Endurance Phase).

I had a very good week of rest and recovery. Because I rode the 70-mile Tour de Scottsdale last Sunday, I did an Active Recovery ride on Monday on surprisingly strong legs.  Tuesday’s Cadence Intervals workout consisted of 4 x 5:00 moderate intensity efforts at 100+ rpm with 5 minutes of recovery. I recovered the rest of the week and I’m looking forward to Monday’s long ride. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
