Cycle Log: Endurance Phase Week 1

Week 1 is the first week of the first mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2013 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles  mesocycles and microcycles).  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of October 1-7, 2012 (click here to download my plan for the Endurance Phase).

I had a great first week. I felt very strong and performed each workout well.  It was nice getting back outside for my Steady Spinning ride. Temps were comfortable (mid-80’s) but it was fairly windy.  My Tempo ride consisted of 15 minutes of zone 3 riding in a fairly large gear. My Power Bursts workout included 8, 15-second bursts up a very short, steep hill.  I’ll be riding the 70-mile Tour de Scottsdale next week.  As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
