Cycle Log: Competition Phase Week 12

Week 12 is the third week of the fourth mesocycle of my 2012 Competition Phase (click here for a detailed description of macrocyles, mesocycles and microcycles), which means it is a recovery week.  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of July 2-8, 2012 (click here to download my plan for the Competition Phase).

I had an awesome field test and Tempo ride to begin the week.  I set a personal best by covering 9.88 miles in 30 minutes for Monday’s field test on my indoor trainer (Zone 4 intensity).  My previous best was 9.6 miles.  I also set a personal best for an indoor Tempo ride on Tuesday by covering 18.68 miles over two, 30-minute intervals at an average power of 194 watts (Zone 3 intensity).  I recovered for the next 5 days so I should be ready for another hard training week.  As always, I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
