Cycle Log: Intensity Phase Week 14

Week 14 is the second week of the fifth mesocycle of my 2012 Intensity Phase (click here for a detailed description of macrocyles, mesocycles and microcycles).  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of April 2-8, 2012 (click here to download my plan for the Intensity Phase).

I got my legs back!  After last week’s significant fatigue, I was happy to feel much stronger on the bike (the moral of this story is when you are tired – rest and you will recover quickly).  I rearranged my schedule so I could ride the tandem on Wednesday.  I did a High Cadence Spinning workout on Monday to test my legs and I felt great.  Wednesday’s tandem ride covered 44 miles with 2,500 feet of climbing.  I did another Hill Climb ride on Saturday that included many hard efforts in Zone 3/4 up steep hills. I recover next week but that includes a field test and a hard Tempo workout.  I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
