10 Quick Tips for a Healthy 2012 – #5: Buy a Pedometer

A pedometer is an inexpensive device that clips on your belt and counts the number of steps you take during the day. It allows you to accurately determine the number of miles you walk and can serve as a great motivation to increase your daily walking distance.  For instance, many people set a daily goal of 10,000 steps, which is roughly 5 miles. You can use a pedometer to track your progress and to determine when you have achieved your goal. Many pedometers allow you to estimate caloric burn as well. So buy yourself a pedometer and start walking your way to healthy 2012!
