10 Quick Tips for a Healthy 2012 – #4: Participate in an Organized Fitness Event

This is probably my favorite tip. Participating in an organized fitness event is a great way to motivate yourself to get into better physical condition.  If you know you have an event coming up in two months, you will have a reason to exercise and eat healthfully. We all perform better when we have a specific objective.  On any given weekend, there are literally thousands of fitness events, both competitive and non-competitive, which include swimming, climbing, cycling, hiking, running, walking, rollerblading and racquet sports.  So select an event you will enjoy, sign-up and have a great time!
