Cycle Log: Endurance Phase Week 8

Week 8 is the second week of the third mesocycle of my Endurance Phase (click here for a detailed description of macrocyles, mesocycles and microcycles).  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of November 28 to December 4, 2011 (click here to download my plan for the Endurance Phase).

I had another great, yet fatiguing week.  I celebrated my 50th birthday on Monday by riding 50 miles on my Trek hybrid, my longest distance ever on this bike!  That left me tired and a bit sore on Tuesday so I did an Active Recovery ride.  I did Thursday’s Tempo ride on the indoor trainer and set a personal best for distance covered in 45 minutes of Zone 3 effort.  I had a great deal of leg fatigue on Saturday so I did a Steady Spinning session instead of Power Bursts.  I want to be ready for Monday’s field test.  I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
