Simply stated, I am running out of gas.  I had tired legs all week.  It’s how I often feel this time of year, which is frustrating because I have two races left.  Fortunately, all of the Active Recovery riding I did helped me recover and I had a good race at the New Mexico Record Challenge 40K Time Trial.  My goal was to set a personal best (1:03:57) but it was a chilly morning with strong winds so that was out of the question.  My finishing time was about 1:06:45 (22.3 mph).  In favorable conditions, I would have probably averaged 23+ mph, which would have been close to my goal.  I have the Arizona State Time Trial Championships next week, which is my final race of the season.  I really do need some rest!  I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
