Cycle Log: Competition Phase Week 17

Week 17 is the second week of the sixth mesocycle of my Competition Phase (click here for a detailed description of macrocyles, mesocycles and microcycles).  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of August 22-28, 2011 (click here to download my plan for the Competition Phase).

This was a great week!  I did an Active Recovery ride on Monday and a Steady Spinning session on Tuesday.  I felt strong on Thursday when I did a Tempo ride in 100 degree weather, averaging about 20 mph on a hilly course.  The big ride of the week was Sunday’s Arizona State Team Time Trial and Tandem Championships.  We had a great ride finishing the 40K course in 59:44.  Next up is the Record Challenge Time Trial in New Mexico.  I’ll let you know how it goes.  Have a great week!
