Cycle Log: Competition Phase Week 15

Week 15 is the third week of the fifth mesocycle of my Competition Phase (click here for a detailed description of macrocyles, mesocycles and microcycles).  Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of August 8-14, 2011 (click here to download my plan for the Competition Phase).

This was a recovery week but I had a hard field test on Monday.  I am definitely getting stronger as I approach my last four races of the season.  I set another personal best for 30 minutes on the indoor trainer, easily surpassing my performance from 3 weeks ago.  I also had a very good Cadence Intervals workout on Wednesday where I did 2 x 15:00 CI at 100-105 rpm with 5 minutes recovery between hard efforts.  The rest of the week served as my recovery.  I should be as ready as possible for the New Mexico/Texas Regional Time Trial Championships one week from today.  I’ll let you know it goes.  Have a great week!
