Lose Weight WITHOUT Dieting: Tip #40 – Weigh Yourself Every Day

This tip may go against conventional wisdom, which is to weigh yourself less frequently such as once a week.  That’s because many people want to be lighter at every weigh-in, which is an unrealistic expectation if you weigh yourself daily.  However, a daily weight check serves two useful purposes.  First, it lets you know how you are doing in terms of weight loss.  You will be lighter on some days and heavier on others (e.g., excess water weight), but you will get a feel for your weight loss tendencies over a period of time.  Second, it can motivate you.  You will find yourself eating better if you know you have to weigh-in every morning.  In addition to weighing yourself, get in the habit of taking body measurements (e.g., waistline).  This can be an even better measure of your progress since the loss of inches corresponds more directly to fat loss than pounds on a scale.
