Lose Weight WITHOUT Dieting: Tip #36 – Read Food Labels

If you want to lose weight, it is imperative that you know what you are putting into your body.  The best way to do this is to read and understand the labels of the foods you buy.  This has become easier in recent years with the inclusion of nutrition information on most foods.  Pay close attention to serving size, total calories, total fat, saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, total carbohydrates, dietary fiber, sugar and protein.  You may want to monitor the amount of sodium, vitamins and minerals in each serving as well.  Most importantly, use this information to get a better understanding of your caloric and nutritional intake on a daily basis.
