Lose Weight WITHOUT Dieting: Tip #26 – Eat Low-Fat and Low-Calorie Foods

You can significantly reduce your daily caloric intake by choosing low-fat alternatives to many foods.  For example, choosing 1% low-fat milk over whole milk will save you 50 calories per 8 oz serving.  That results in a savings of 18,250 calories over the course of one year.  This represents more than 5 pounds of weight loss through a single serving of milk each day!  There are many other areas where you can achieve this type of caloric savings.  Cheese, cookies, cake, ice cream and salad dressing all have tasty, low-fat versions.  You can also choose low-calorie alternatives such as diet soda instead their high sugar, high-calorie counterparts.  The key to making this work is to choose low-fat and low-calorie options that you enjoy.  Drinking diet soda instead of regular won’t work if you hate the taste of diet pop!  Make food swaps that taste good and you will be successful.
