Week 12 is the third week of the fourth mesocycle of my Endurance Phase for the 2014 racing season (click here for a detailed description of macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles), which means it is a recovery week. Here are the actual workouts with the plan for the week of December 9-15, 2013 (click here to download my Endurance Phase training plan).
|Week of 12/9/13||Mon||Tues||Wed||Th||Fri||Sat||Sun||Total|
|Goal||2.0 FT||1.0 AR||OFF||1.0 AR||OFF||Trash Ride||OFF||8.0|
|Actual||0.75 AR||1.25 PI||OFF||1.0 AR||OFF||Trash Ride||OFF||7.0|
This did not feel like a recovery week! I started with an Active Recovery ride because I did a hard ride last Sunday. Then I had a great Pyramid Intervals workout on Tuesday where I did 4 x 5:00 Zone 4 efforts with 5 minutes of recovery. The big event of the week was Saturday’s White Mountain Road Club Trash Ride where we rode 36.5 miles out to our adopted stretch of highway, picked up trash along the roadside for two hours, and then rode back. It was 73 miles of hard riding with two hours of cleanup. Very, very tiring, but rewarding. I’m back at it again this week. As always, I’ll let you know how it goes. Have a great week!
