In recent weeks, I have recommended various exercise classes as a way of losing weight and improving your fitness. These classes have included cycling, Pilates, yoga and aerobics. Another class to consider is an aquatics class. Aquatics classes are offered at fitness centers, spas and community centers and can meet a wide variety of needs. There are swim instruction classes for toddlers, youth, teens and adults that cater to a wide range of swimming ability. There are water aerobics classes that feature aerobic conditioning and resistance training for a full body workout. You can take an aquatic jogging class that increases aerobic endurance, muscle strength and flexibility. You can also participate in aquatic strength and conditioning classes that use equipment such as aqua bells and noodles to improve muscular strength and endurance. Aquatics classes are also a great way to exercise when you have an injury or impairment such as arthritis. So join a class and have some fun in the water!
